Pretty awesome looking games for sure. For all the DQ fans let's hope they release these in North America.
The official website for the Tales of series has been updated. Nothing too major, the Tales of Innocence, Tales of Rebirth PSP, and Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosuku websites were updated. Each site shows some new and old screen shots for their repective games. The maps in ToS: KoR are looking real nice though. Now I need to find a cheap way for my Wii to play Japanese imports before this game comes out!

August 7th |

Holy crap! So many RPGs coming to North America in August... Not so many in Japan haha. Let's hope no more delays happen...

Is it just me or do the face art in the battle shot look different from the PS2 game?

A few new things I noticed from the scans, is that Skits(aka face chats) are back! Woot! I wonder thought will they be voiced? Also Battles seem to not be random, which is also a good thing. Finally it seems the dialog boxes will (again like in Tales Of the Tempest) appear on the
top screen, which is alright but I kind of like having the dialog box over top the characters(like in many of the other tales of games. Sort of the comic book looking effect.)

Anywho all that and the new screens look great. I can't wait to play this game! Winter hurry up and come quicker!

“The reason why we did not name this Tales of Symphonia 2 is because the game concept is quite different from the previous game. Now players will be able to have monsters as party members and can level up together with the main characters.” - producer Makoto Yoshidumi

- Monsters join party after certain conditions are metLik

- No specifics on monster control was given

- takes place in the combined world of Silvalant and Teseara from the first game

The other day in Japan Namco Bandai added 4 new pages for their upcoming games to their Tales Channel website. The websites are nothing much but place holders for now, but still worth checking out for the art.(and the Innocence trailer posted below)

Click here to visit the Tales Of Innocence site

Click here to visit the Tales Of Symphonia: Knight(s) of Ratatosuku site

Click here to visit the Tales Of Destiny Remake Director's Cut site

Click here to visit the Tales of Rebirth PSP site

Click here to go to Tales Channel

Holy crap! This game looks amazing! I'm not longer worried! This really does look like the next Tales of! And the Battle system actually looks fast and just as awesome as the PS2 battle systems! And the voice acting! Though the main character is really girly sounding but whatever! So awesome! God I love the Tales of series! /end of fanboy rant

- Intro movie by Production IG. Movie to be unveiled at TGS

- Full 3d

- Main character is Luca, son of a merchant. Luca has special powers, as do many in the town.

- Luca’s personality is a bit different from the traditional RPG character

- Battle system is called "Dimension Stride LMBS (Linear Motion Battle System)"

- Takes place 3 years after Tales of Symphonia on Cube
- Two heroes: Emile Castagnie and Malta, both 16 years old
- Characters from Tales of Symphonia will be present, but not playable (as far as we know)
- Move by pointing the Wiimote in the direction you want to go
- You are able to capture monsters and use them during battle. To also note the possibility of capturing creatures and of making use of it during the battles

I'm interested by the monster capturing, that's a first in the Tales of Series. But I don't like how you point to move. I think I heard some where this is only for the world map, but even so I liked how the Tales of Series was as far as I've played, the only RPG that still had old school world maps. It seemed like every RPG(expect for the Tales of games of course) I played on the PS2 had that lame point and click world map. Oh well, it's a Tales of game so I'm sure it'll be good none the less... I just hope not all new Tales of games will have the lame point and click world map.

I dub this day Tales of News day! Looking good this game is!

For the PS3! ... Wow... I didn't think we'd see a 2D RPG on the playsation 3...Ever! This is just a punch in the face for me. Now I have no idea who will get the most jRPGs between 360 and PS3... I guess I shall have to wait a little longer until I decide if it's PS3 or 360 for me... (come on Blue Dragon and Trusty Bell! Come To PS3! Or better even more jRPGs come to the 360!)

Well the Tales news keeps rolling in, and "I am happy." As Reggie would put it. It seems TOI will use a mix between the TODr and TOA battle system, which is pretty cool damn sexy! The TOT's battle system wasn't that great so hopefully this will make up for it as long as it runs as fast as the PS2 game's battle systems.
(Sorry Cless but that title is the best way to describe it haha)

At today's Tales press conference, the series producer announced that the Nintendo DS will be the lead platform for the Tales series going forward.

Why? Because the Tales series means:

- "A drama containing deep themes"
- "Sounds and visuals that showcase anime FMV, theme songs and voice"
- "The unique Linear Motion Battle System"
Taken from NeoGAF

I don't know how I feel about this... I always thought the PS2 was the best platform for the Tales of Series, haha. But really though, going on I did not expect the tales of series to choose the DS.(I was thinking the PSP would be best) I mean the games have for the most part always had anime cut scenes, a crap load of voice acting, and awesome celshaded/2D graphics. And I don't see how(without dumbing it down) they'll pull that stuff off. Tales of the Tempest was alright on the DS, but it didn't hold a candle to the PS2 games.
Holy crap wow! First of all I'm a big fan of the Tales Of Series, it's one of the few RPG series today that appel to an older SNES RPG fan. So I'm so excited to hear this news! The Big news being, Tales of is coming to the Wii!

Tales of Symphonia: Knight(s?) of Ratatosuku(テイルズ オブ シンフォニア -ラタトスクの騎士) hehe not sure how the sub-title is suppose to translate, seeing as there isn't a normal english logo for the game yet, so I just romaji'd the katakana.

The game is on track for a release date of spring next year.

Next up for the DS,
Tales of Innocence(テイルズ オブ イノセンス)

This game will be out winter of this year, and is an all new game in the series, with character designs from good old Mutsumi Inomata. Now seeing I don't know much kanji, and the info is in a picture(meaning I can't use good old rikai-chan to read it) I'm not quite sure about this info(well actually i'm pretty sure), but I think on the 23rd of this month an offical promational video of this game will be released to the public. Which is friggin' exciting!

Now for the less exciting news, less exciting new because I already bought both games once before... Yes that's right, more rehashing. Though I am excited about,
Tales Of Destiny - The Director's Cut(テイルズ オブ デスティニー ディレクターズカット)
The game is planned to be out in early 2008, for the PS2.

And last but not least,
Tales of Rebirth(テイルズ オブ リバース)
is being ported to the PSP...I didn't see that coming!/sarcasm

Just like the TOD director's cut, this game is planned to be out in early 2008.

And Now a scan!

During an interview IGN had with Square-Enix’s Motomu Toriyama, he was asked:
"Is there going to be a Final Fantasy-themed fitness game?"
to which he replied:
"There are no actual plans to take Final Fantasy into the fitness genre, but that whole system and mechanism of using your weight and balance to control games is something we’re interested in incorporating into future RPG titles"

I wonder how something like the Wii balance board could be used in an RPG? But I'm interested damn it!

It's been awhile since I last played the first game, but as far as I can remember the graphics weren't as clear as they look in this sequel. The graphics look slightly improved, which is really nice. I look forward to this coming out in english.
